Landscaping Project

You contracted for a landscape project, now what?

We take great pride in the quality of our work, and we also work diligently to ensure that our work sites are clean and safe. Following is a list of what you can expect when your project gets underway and how you can help us keep your worksite and neighborhood clean and safe

Installation Dates: You will be contacted prior to the start of installation with an approximate start date. We perform jobs in the order they are received and wait times of between 8-12 weeks are normal for work requested during the April – July time frame. Delays caused by inclement weather conditions will impact installations several weeks after the weather event occurs, as all installations in queue are pushed out.

Weather: If your project includes excavation, soil work, grading, or installation of concrete pavers or retaining walls, we must have dry soil conditions and a dry weather forecast for the duration of your project to provide the best possible result.

Preparation: Please ensure that outside power outlets and outside water taps are turned on prior to our arrival. Pet waste should be cleaned up, toys and outdoor furniture should be stored securely so as not to interfere with work progress. Pools should be covered and swimming should not be allowed while work is in progress.

Utilities: If you project requires digging or excavation, we will contact JULIE prior to starting your project and have all public utilities marked. The locators will paint lines and place flags in your yard. Cable TV and telephone lines are buried just below the surface. We take every precaution to avoid cutting a live line. If we inadvertently do, we will contact your supplier to have the service repaired, but this may mean a few hours of interrupted service and a service fee from your provider. Private services (septic tanks and septic fields, outdoor electrical lighting, dog fences, sprinkler systems, gas, electric and water lines run to pools and outdoor grills, buried downspouts and sump pump lines, etc.) are not marked by the JULIE utility locating service. You are responsible to inform us of any private services and their exact locations prior to the time we start the job so we can avoid damaging them.

Children, Pets and Neighbors: Please keep in mind that your project is a construction site and should be treated as such. Children are often drawn to big trucks and equipment and so must be kept away from the work site for their safety! Please notify your neighbors that heavy trucks and machinery will be working in the area and inform them of the expected timeframe of your project. Please have cars parked at least 200 feet away from the worksite so our trucks and equipment will have access to your property. Please ensure any pets are kept away from the work site. If pets need to go outside, please make certain they are on leashes and in the control of the owner.

Concrete Pavers: You and your neighbors should also be aware that cutting pavers and walls generates a lot of dust and noise. Dust from cuttings can be lessened, but not eliminated. To minimize the inconvenience of dust, especially on windy days, you and your neighbors should keep windows and doors, including garage doors closed when cutting is under way.

Permits and Inspections: We will arrange for any local government contractor licenses, surety bonds or building permits required for your project. Property owners are solely responsible for any Homeowner Association or similar pre-approvals or permits required prior to the start of a project.

Your work site will be left clean and safe at the end of every work day. If you notice something that you feel may be a hazard, please contact us as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing us for your project and doing your part to help us maintain a clean and safe work environment!
