You just had new seed put down on your lawn, now what?
Basically, KEEP IT WET! Once in the morning and once in the early evening seems best. Water daily unless it rains. Move sprinklers when puddling occurs or about every 45 minutes. You should see growth approximately 2 weeks after installation. Cut grass once it is 3″ or high enough to mow, but make sure grass is dry before mowing. Fertilize after first mowing with a 12-12-12 or similar blend for thicker germination and continue watering as necessary. Do not bag grass if possible. Use a mulching mower or side discharge as it returns clippings back into the lawn to provide natural nutrients. Remember, it takes 18-24 months before a newly seeded lawn fully matures with proper care.
